Anthony J. Sorrentino
Our Guest
Born in Omaha, NE in 1954, Sorrentino would go on to graduate from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1972. From there, he majored in accounting at Creighton University, before going on to study law as a Juris Doctor.
Sorrentino is a Certified Public Accountant, Attorney at Law, Certified employee Benefits Specialist, and Certified Life Underwriter/Chartered Financial Consultant. He worked within the business community providing professional services in accounting, law, and employee benefits for over four decades before retiring. During his retirement, he founded Health Plan Fiduciary Compliance LLC, and now serves as the President.
Sorrentino specializes in federal compliance with all laws governing employer sponsored health care plans, Medicare/Medicaid, Medical Malpractice, and Health Plan Sponsor Fiduciary Mandates.
In his spare time, Sorrentino spends time with his wife, Kate, along with his 4 children and 6 grandchildren. He’s completed 63 marathons, and over 300+ half marathons. He also serves as a volunteer coach for Creighton University Cross Country and Track & Field.

Cristy Gupton is an employee benefits advisor and President of Custom Benefits Solutions. Cristy has been part of the employee benefits industry since 1998 and has been named to Employee Benefits Advisor Magazine’s Top 20 Women in Benefits Advising in both 2018 and 2020. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Health Benefits Design and Health Informatics from University of Lynchburg. She holds the designation of Global Financial Steward from Wake Forest University’s Center for Board Certified Fiduciaries and seeks to help employers be the best fiduciaries they can be.

Cristy has written articles for BenefitsPro Magazine and Physician Outlook Magazine. She leads the NC/SC Chapter of the Free Market Medical Association and the DisruptHR Asheville and Wilmington Chapters. Giving back to her community is important and she leads a den of Cub Scouts in Pack 199 and serves the Foothills District of the Boy Scouts of America as their membership chair.
